I WILL BE WITH YOU

Ex. 3:12 ¶ So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you.”

Facing the world and all its challenges alone is very difficult. Having someone to walk with in the darkest of days as well as in enjoying life’s blessings together is priceless. This promise given to Moses sounds very similar to what Jesus said to His disciples, “I will be with you until the end of the age”. Jesus is still fulfilling this promise to all His followers today through the precious Holy Spirit. We never have to face anything alone, He is always with us. He is with us when we face medical crisis and He is with us when we are enjoying health in our bodies. He is with us when we are facing financial drama and He is with us when there is plenty. His presence with us is the greatest sign that He has us covered and that everything will be okay. Here are some thoughts from Andrew Murray on God’s abiding presence.
“Psalm 139 speaks of God’s omnipresence as something beyond comprehension: “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain”. The revelation of God’s omnipresence in the man Christ Jesus deepens the mystery. The grace that enables us to claim this presence as our strength and our joy is something inexpressibly blessed. And yet many of us find it difficult to understand all that is implied in this promise, and do not know how it can become the practical experience of our daily lives. Here, as elsewhere in the spiritual life, everything depends upon our accepting Christ’s Word as reality and trusting the Holy Spirit to make it true to us from moment to moment. There need not be a moment in which His presence cannot be our experience. Our attitude must be that of a quiet, restful faith; of a humble, lowly dependence: “Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him” (Psalm 37:7). The Lord wants to keep you in perfect peace, with all the light and the strength you will need for His service.”

We can learn to draw from His strength in whatever life brings our way, resting in His presence is where we draw this strength. Life’s dramas tends to fill us with tension and anxiety. In those tense moments we often make mistakes that can bring other problems into our lives. Learning to recognize and rest in His presence will help you in your practical day to day decisions. When life’s emergencies knock on your door you will be more than ready. Like He said “I will certainly be with you”. He is certainly with you today.
